May 26, 2008

(MAY 26) CBO Heavyweight Champion Moutrie Witherspoon 14-2-8KO on five days notice stepped up to the plate and stood toe to toe with one of the best Heavyweights in the world, Jason Estrada 13-1-3KO, the bout was controversy stopped midway through the 7th round by referee Joey Lopino, when it seemed Estrada was starting to tire. After a rough start Witherspoon relaxed and started landing good jabs and counter rights. Estrada paced himself in the middle rounds but was still able to land solid combinations that helped him to steal close rounds. Over all it was a super effort for Witherspoon as he was willing test his skills against one of the most experiences and decorated heavyweights in the world on national TV. Estrada 13-1-3KO is a former Olympian that has over 300 Amateur fights. The fight was shown live on ESPN2 Friday night fights form the Twin River Events Center in Lincoln, Rhode Island, Estrada’s Home town, and Promoted by Jimmy Burchfield’s CES Promotions. We the fans congratulate Witherspoon as he represented the State of South Carolina in a gallant and dignified effort.
