(AUG 12) On Saturday, August 20,
2005, at the Beijing Capital Gym, Beijing, The People's Republic
of China, there will be a boxing event, that will feature men’s
and women’s boxing on the card. In a IBA Women’s World
middleweight championship, Cristy "Code Red" Nickel will fight
Mariem Brakache. In another women’s bout, Mia St. John will
fight Donna Biggers for an IBA Women’s Continental lightweight

What a Short Night in Florence,
SC
(JULY 19) Promoter Reggie Lewis of In This Corner Promotions
presented his twelfth professional event on Saturday July 16,
2005 with a 5 bout fight card held at the Florence Civic Center.
The first bout of the night, Jerry Johnson from Tennessee came a
long way to get TKO’d by the Atlanta’s boxer Jean Michel
originating from Haiti. This fight was over by 2 minutes 15
seconds in the 1st round.

(JULY 14) Not only has it been a
task to find opponents for White Rock’s undefeated heavyweight
sensation Moultrie “Mooch”
Witherspoon, it has equally been hard to find sparring
partners.
Nevertheless, Billy Stanick
is bringing top notch heavyweights from all over the country to
spar several times a month with Witherspoon. Recently, Stanick

WRB Sponsors Do You

future events? WRB is adding an additional 2400 square
feet on to the current Sponsor Area with five more tons of air
conditioning units. And, a $1,000 sponsorship package is in the
works for “major” sponsors. Why? At the last event there were
two title fights; ticket sales are not enough to put on a
professional event and bring title fights to the card. This

There was a full house
Saturday night June 18, 2005 at White Rock Boxing Gym for the
Summer Explosion professional boxing event. Before the
bouts began local vocalist Henry Flowers brought the house down
with an acapello version of the National Anthem. We were excited
and proud to have two special guests of such caliber come hang
out with us at the Summer Explosion. Senator Jake Knotts and Lt.
Governor Andrč Bauer were introduced in the ring, and of course
there were no blows thrown; only friendly hello’s and waves.

Update on South Carolina’s Jeremy Bryan!
(MAY 20) Jeremy Bryan, 141, of Sumter, South
Carolina, is competing in the 2005 National Golden Gloves in
Little Rock, Arkansas. The event is being held at the
Statehouse Convention Center. Bryan, the second reigning
champion to box in Wednesday, fought Freddy Sanchez, of
Worcester, Mass. According to USA Boxing, Bryan
stayed on track for a second straight title with a unanimous
decision over Sanchez. Bryan also defeated Ira Frank, by
unanimous decision, on Monday, May 16, and in the quarter final
bouts, held on Thursday, May 19, Bryan has defeated Earl Cole,
by unanimous Decision.
